sometimes when driving down country roads you can see a big rose bush out in the middle of nowhere. The rose survived , the farmhouse and everything else has been gone for decades.

We need a new Christmas tree. My last one the dog pissed on (and tbh i brought it when I was broke so it was a bit… meh anyway). Mrs wants an real tree, which I would normally have no issues with but we’re not here for Christmas day. Feel like a real tree is a bit wasted.

DT what would you guys pick? Also who makes good ornaments? Dog pissed on most of those too. And the Kmart ones looked great new but quickly fell apart.

we have one of those reject shop ones with built in fibre optic lights. No tinsel, no fishing it out of catbums for the next six months.

One year we got one of these and stuck baubels on it for an outdoor bbq christmas, looked pretty snazz. Looking up the link I found they do christmas themed ones too!

      Fake tree 100%

Always had real ones growing up and loved them. The smell, the feel, nothing comes close.

Bought a real one here in Oz once. Our first home, first Christmas.

Never again. Died super quick. Dry as hell. Little to no smell.

      Completely not worth it.

We’re looking for a new fake one this year and trying to find something of decent quality. Current one has been around for 17 years and needs and update

Xmas is a big deal for me. I get real or fake trees depending on the theme. I prefer the real trees for the nice smell but have installed an all black fake tree this year.

If you go the real tree route, you need to jump on it this weekend or the good ones will be gone by the following. The scouts sell them and you can preorder. Also keep in mind they need watering almost every day. ( an automated watering system can be DIY if you’re so inclined)

If you aren’t that into it just get a fake one.

For ornaments, I source them from NSW. Christmas World or Amazing Christmas. You can buy in bulk.

Hit me up if any more questions

The problem is you have to use it for several years to get your money’s worth so probably just pick out a fake tree you can live with for a while, if you go that route

Pine trees are great if you love picking up pine needles every day so the dogs, cats and kids don’t put them in their mouths first. Also disposal is fun if you have a chainsaw.

Did doggo piss on the star at the top of the old tree? That’s dedication we could all learn from.

Personally I’d just get a fake one. Real ones are a bugger to clean up when they drop needles. They do smell good though.

Just had a spew due to anxiety. Christ in a cream cheese sauce.

Actually stressed AF about these last two assessments, but it’s fine. I have an extension to Monday night, so I can go in to class today and smash them out over the weekend. I have this mighty fear I’m not good enough, that I wasted my money because I’m a terrible person. But I know it’s just my depression and fears.

Been trying that technique of “but what if I pass?” instead. But man, those depressive pathways are such an easy road ugh!

I don’t think I ask for much, but I would really appreciate some good vibes I think. 😭🙏🏼

I know it’s negative thoughts but you’re two assignments away from finishing. You’re closer to the end than the start and it sounds line you’ve been going well so far. Often these final assignments are easier because you’re more familiar with the material

You’ve done well from what I’ve seen. You need to have more belief in yourself.

I find sometimes it helps to just focus on what you need to do and finish so that you don’t get to thinking about the ifs and what happens.

Wishing you good luck with it all.

      You can do it!

It sounds like you are doing great, so I’m sure you’ll be fine.

I find the opposite technique often works well for me - actually following the “what if I fail?” thoughts and working through the scenario realistically. Fears are often big and scary because we don’t really want to think about them, once we shine a light at them they shrink back to something realistic we can actually deal with. So for example if you fail the subject you would need to repeat it, which means it will take a bit longer to finish the course. Which would be a bit annoying, but a long way from the global “I’m not good enough” fears.

I like my manager, she’s this cute Greek mum that’s worked here for 20 years. I’m backfilling her role as she moves up into an acting position, so she’s done all the work I’m currently doing.

That’s why I don’t mind if I’m on a call with her where she’s trying to figure something out, you can tell she’s always trying her hardest.

Ugh. I feel like to manage stress I need to reduce my time on the internet. It’s not good for my head to marinate in bad news.

However I spend so much time online not only due to physical limitations - but also because where I live is even more stressful and toxic and it interferes with my hobbies.

I’d do craft but I got really sick of it over the pando and I’m finding art a bit mentally rigorous.

yay, looks like today is carpet cleaning day. I didn’t notice until I was locking the apartment up for the night that the front entrance area had been flooded from the deluge of rain. It’s starting to stink already. Luckily I have one of those wet carpet cleaners. But still 😣
