So I know I always call him Mr. Omoikiri but that’s just for ease because he’s my human and he has been for a long time and we always knew we were stuck with each other for forever. But I guess he really is (soon to be) mr. Omoikiri now

    spoiler

Thank you! It’s a champagne diamond, so it’s… champagne colour. Like pinky yellow. I fell in love with them/it when we were looking at rings a while back because the woman said that they’re less sought after because they’re ‘imperfect.’ The imperfections give it the colour. I found that super sweet

I was always against the idea of diamonds, but mr Omoikiri thinks we’d best have something we can hawk in case the internet goes down and/or we have a zombie apocalypse and everything goes to shit.

This is the biggest compliment of them all. I always read ‘ladies, make sure you have a manicure in case you get proposed to’ and when I was trying to take a photo of it this morning I thought ‘damn. I really should take better care of my nails/had a manicure’

The changes I have been making to diet, exercise & no alcohol have been doing me good. In the past I was constantly running out of sick leave, now I have just passed one year without taking a single day. I now understand how people can end up with such high leave balances.

My uncle and cousin (from 2 different families – my paternal uncle via marriage and my maternal cousin) both had heart attacks and it’s not fun. They’re also both like active-ish, I know my uncle looks like a long bean, he’s a massive cyclist. So doesn’t matter what active level you are tbh. But I’m glad to hear you’re okay, and yes spend time with your kids! Because you never know when you don’t see them again.

Oh the man is not well. This is about the 4th cold he’s ever had in the 28 years that I’ve known him. I’m keeping busy prepping because if I go down too the kid will have to look after us and she only knows how to cook 2 minute noodles and scrambled eggs. I did however show her how to use the airfryer. Please pray for us.

We ate already. Used the new crockery for Korean ramen, mushrooms, bok choy, coriander, crunchy noodles, gyozas, an egg and Kimchi on the side. Little dog is very confused about the time. I promised the kid if she’s hungry later we’ll have mini pizzas or chips and gravy.

Ugh, I need to do something about my weight, wearing office clothes again has me acutely aware of just how much I’ve gained in the last few years. Just feels so out of my control due to working shift work and often doing shifts up to 12hrs long, I just work, sleep, and eat because I’m miserable about it all.

So, at the start of the year my regular GP said that I “probably have chronic fatigue” and that it’s likely due to my depression. But lately my depression has been okay (anxiety, okay maybe not so much but I’ve been under far better control all things considered). And yet the feeling has come back of being super tired, headache, with pain at the back of my neck/top of my spine.

Anyway, found someone locally who specialises in chronic fatigue. He’s away on holidays as of today though, so it’ll be a while before I even set up a chat with him. Still, I’m hoping maybe it can lead to a bit more than a vague diagnosis with no real plan.

Some days the HR office has a revolving door and it’s a non-stop day of people stepping in. No time for a break. Barely time for hydration and bathroom.

Tomorrow I’m cheering up my manager and I by getting us out of the office to buy some more spicy nuts in our lunch break.

We’ll get to make jokes about spicy nuts, get out of the office, and get some tasty snacks.

I see this as a win.

Made stir fry noodles for dinner using Nagi’s all purpose sauce recipe. It worked out very nice. Recently have started listening to audiobooks. This is related because for first time listened whilst making dinner, and I very much liked the combo of the activities.

I read a whole book yesterday! I haven’t read a book in ages, it’s called Wimmera by Mark Brandi. I used to be the sort of person who’d be reading 6 books at once, even as a child. But after I had a breakdown around 15 years ago I found I no longer had the concentration to read. I’d read the same few pages repeatedly and keep forgetting things, or be unable to grasp it somehow and give up in frustration and befuddled sadness. I found this book very engaging and, due to the places and times of the setting, very familiar also. So I finally read a book again. That was my excitement for the weekend!

I went on a mini African safari by seeking out all the African animals. Except the gorillas, I feel too ashamed to look at gorilla people that are effectively sentient caged slaves.

The baboons did their baboon stuff, lazing on warm rocks in the sun, grooming, wanking, teasing each other, shoving their bum against the glass windows to give spectators an intimate view. The little bastards would run off laughing.

Lemurs are actually marsupilamis . I always knew this and seeing their hanging nests confirmed it.

Giraffes were sweet. The lions were sleeping in the sun. They have cute tufts of fur under their arms.

Bin chickens, native to Northern Victoria, have taken residence en masse in the crowns of tall palm trees, making messes, skwarking and shredding the vegetation.
