yo ho ho a weeding I did go.

(Slowly untangling the horrible fact that all the things I fucking love doing have been tied up in a BIG TIME TRAUMA and now nothing feels like fun it all feels like duty. So on advice I go out and do something and then just drop it and fuck off when it stops being fun. I’ve been given a sociopath license!!)

I read the first part as “wedding” and thought holy fuck, what kind of wedding would result in the follow up statement. Then I read “weeding” and realised that both statements aren’t connected. But if they were, holy fuck, what kind of weeding would result in the follow up statement!?

The advice you received though… that’s gold, right there.

I like to fuck around and garden and build ridiculous things and generally be an obnoxiously bogan builder. But there’s a lot of shit tied up in these things with the forced eviction, having to destroy 16 years of work, then moving and renovating under the gun (which I did most of because I do love His Lordship, but he’s all thumbs) so all my stressors got tied up in the fun stuff. So I’m having to relearn the fun of them. It’s rather poo.

      Beautiful day to be outside!

E: was in a rush before and missed the main gist of your comment - hope that the trauma fades and you find joy in the things you love again. I like the ‘drop it til you’re ready’ advice, too

fun thing is I can’t “drop it” drop it as there’s a lot of work that I need to do before this oncoming summer of fuckoff hits to ensure my established plants survive (irrigation, tanks, etc). The stress is not helping, but small progress is still progress - I got the area for the tanks cleared and mapped them out so I can at least put a pissy little standalone link to keep them on life support.

Then I got distracted by the giant reeled hose dying and spent a couple hours trying to repair the ratchet mechanism before ragequitting.
