First time eating meat in a week. It was interesting to see what life was like without it.

Probably a bit more tired, maybe some brain fog. Could get used to it after a while I think.

Curious to know if you tried impossible mince and burgers? I legit prefer that over meat alternatives.

Nah i didn’t. I basically ate tofu, veggies and some carbs in air fryer waffle fries format. And oats for breakfast.

I’ll give those a shot. I was being lazy lol

Mate that sounds so boring lol. For some context my partner is pescatarian but we cook fish like twice a year so I mainly cook vego at home and eat meat off a menu sometimes.

Quick curries with lentils or tofu and stir fries are where it’s at for really awesome easy vego food. Also the impossible mine unlocks spag bol or “beef” chilli. I’ve been cooking like this for like ten years now and you lean to get really creative so good luck to you if you decide to stick at it. The creative cooking skills get super fun!

Alright you’ve definitely got me intrigued! Yeah I’m used to eating chicken breast and veg every day for years.

I used to be a cook so it’s not lack of knowledge. When I’m cooking for 2 people it’s different.

When it’s just me, my food is incredibly boring lol

Bit of a wild swim in that wind. Very choppy waves hitting the beach at 45 degrees (usually they’re parallel). Ended up 80m down the beach in a few mins from where my kit was. Certainly wasn’t a south easterly as per BoM but nth. easterly.

So no wave tonight just sand in the wind:

Bleeeeeurgh. Mega ceebtown here today. Just switch my brain off now and let me try tomorrow

E: I managed to make a choy sum stir fry and the koshihikari is cooking. Between that and a tin of sardines that’s dins. I still have so much veg in the fridge I need to cook but soooo can’t be bothered… the beetroot especially. Need to hurry up and make a curry with it, freeze some for later.

I finished watching Private Lives/Bohema. It was like watching 6 movies about the same people over the span of 2 decades.

It was just sad, or I should say I was saddened. I might be too old to watch this. Like being too old to read Russian novels, you need to be young and fresh and not worn down to be resilient enough to withstand the nihilism.

And I just don’t understand life sometimes.

Trying a shampoo from Aldi. It doesn’t have dimethicone (I get greasy hair) but it does have fragrance and polyquaternium which are asthma triggers. I used it just now and will see if the scent dissipates before bed. Weirdly it stings a little.

Edit: Oh. Apparently polyquaternium is a known irritant and releases formaldehyde. Back to the Loch with you Nessie.

Edit 2: That’s polyquaternium 15. Seems 10 and 7 are ‘safe’ but with the fragrance of the shampoo and the slight burn/itch of my scalp I’m not really sold.

Washed it out with Dove sensitive bar.

They denied my raise. Apparently doing 45 hour weeks isn’t enough. Go fuck yourselves. Give me insanely difficult clients and then tell me the relationship isn’t great. Pretty much what I expected.

The relationships were damaged significantly from issues between respective leaderships. Very little could be done and none of them had anything but praise for me.

What a bummer. Especially when this place had such promise when you first started. Sounds like you’ve exhausted every avenue and it’s time to move on… Hope you manage to jump this sinking ship soon, seems like nothing but bad news all around.

Sooner you get a new role the sooner you can think about moving house too.

I honestly felt this was the best job I had. Of course, I get anxious thinking “am I overreacting”? But then I remember that we’ve lost close to a dozen people in less than 3 months.

I’ll be out soon hopefully, I’ve got interviews this week.

I’m trying to move house ASAP, but I don’t think I can swing it just yet. But we’ll see.

I don’t know what it is but the chocolate on the back of chocolate coated Scotch Fingers is much better than it has any right to be. It almost had that Cadbury taste to it, there’s something different about it than normal biscuit chocolate

These days I’m more the type to sit down and play Dark Souls for 3 hours. My biggest problem with roguelikes is I always have shit luck and either end up with a trash build or the things I’m angling for fall apart during the big blind

I paid $15 for Balatro, and it’s absolutely bonkers. Fairly simple but you end up facing some hard choices as the game goes on.

It won indie game of the year for 2024 and makes complete sense.

I was drinking matcha everyday for the past few years until I started getting the jitters. I have switched to hojicha and am still getting jittery. Last week, I had nothing at all and had anxiety at a moderate baseline, but not the constant chest tightness, tingling hands, heart racing and brain fog. So I guess it’s just water and herbal tea for me for now. Hopefully any future ADHD meds don’t make me feel like this.

        They’re going to think I’m a hypochondriac.

I’m not super stressed though? Maybe it’s something subconsciously eating me up.
