Depends who’s making it! The kitchen manager at work occasionally brings in a jelly slice and it’s just magnificent. I don’t know what she does but it’s divine. No lamingtons have ever topped the size and freshness of the ones I used to get in primary school on their annual fundraising lamington drive. I adore hedgehog, but there are too many dry lacklustre examples out there, and I’ve been frequently disappointed. As for pav, a perfect pav is food of the gods but again, so many meh ones out there. And vanilla slice is frequently an abomination, but a really good one is just… Hey can you guys just hang on a sec? (Inches towards front door) I’ll, um, I’ll be back in a minute, I’ve just got to, um, put petrol in the car (dashes out door without car keys)
Ok. Let me explain. It has a biscuit base like a cheese cake. The middle is like a panna cotta (like a really really weak custard made with condensed milk) and jelly on top. When it’s done really well, it beats all the rest because it’s not sickly sweet.
I also don’t particularly like cheesecake. Bit then there is Roman cheesecake wich is more a whole baked ricotta as MF is fantastic, but a once a decade sort of thing
I’ve never made a pav because my mum makes good ones.
If you go to a Gotham Doughnuts they do an awesome V which is a donut cross Vanilla slice in GF. I’m not responsible if you choose other GF delicacies while there.
Pavlova. With strawberry and blueberry and kiwifruit. Or passionfruit puree. I don’t really like the others and detest lamingtons. No, I guess I’ll never get my Australian citizenship…
Vanilla slice, lamington, pavlova, hedgehog slice, lemon slice, mint slice, jelly slice? Which Aussie treat would you pick?

did you know timtams are a pale australian copy of the original French patisserie small biscuit cake
iow, they are all delicious if made well with good ingredients
but I think pavs are most likely to be delicious, pretty hard to ruin fresh cream and fruit
Tim Tam’s were based off the english Penguins.
really? okay
Yeah and Tim Tam was named after a race horse.
I don’t know who’s making them but i can assure you all desserts will be tested by me. And they’re all👌
pavlova with cream and fruit
Preferred fruit?
All of them, but especially strawberry, blueberries, mango, passionfruit juice
Vanilla slice if I had to pick. Prefer the European versions of it though.
Both vanilla slice and lamington. Why limit yourself to one. But lamington must have jam.
Seriously considering making lamingtons this weekend.
Probably jelly slice but I’m not sure what it is as I haven’t seen one.

YUM
Oh then that’s probably not for me.
Lamington but has to have jam in it.
If you’re at a kid’s party and a grandmother has made them, give them a go.
Lamingtons MUST have jam.
The panna cotta doesn’t really agree with me.
I don’t like cheesecakes so lamington it is!
I also don’t particularly like cheesecake. Bit then there is Roman cheesecake wich is more a whole baked ricotta as MF is fantastic, but a once a decade sort of thing
Fair enough
Lemon slice, then jelly slice a close second and vanilla third.
Jelly slice. Haven’t seen one of those for aaaages. They’re yum too.
Yes, yes, yes.
Mint slice
Ok I’ll have to add this now.
If made by my ex-housmate’s partner - hedgehog
In the wild (and this might be influenced by the fact I have not had a good one since having to be GF) vanilla slice
Edit: If I have to cook it: Pav. It’s my superpower
I’ve never made a pav because my mum makes good ones.

Oh awesome. I will add that to my list of places to suss out
I’ve eaten them. You can’t tell the difference. 5/5.
No lemon slice?
Shit. I’ll add it to the list.
Pavlova. With strawberry and blueberry and kiwifruit. Or passionfruit puree. I don’t really like the others and detest lamingtons. No, I guess I’ll never get my Australian citizenship…
Oh hun. You have hurt me deep.
I have accepted my role as the village parish
Pavlova in a heartbeat.
Hedgehawg
pav
What’s your preferred topping?
raspberry and strawberry, or passion fruit.
Vanilla slice by a considerable margin
Can I say fairy bread? Or chocolate ripple cake?
But if I had to pick, probably hedgehog or pavlova. I’ve never had a jelly slice before!
Vanilla slice 4 lyfe
You can but I was thinking more bakery goodies but this is a game of pretend so why not.
