My father in law loves jigsaw puzzles. This one is his latest. I think it’s borderline evil, and question whether it should be legal to sell in shops. He seemed to like it, though.

I once did this one. Forget how many pieces it was, but it was pretty evil. Mordillo cartoon of field of flowers

He might like many of the The Play Group puzzles, including this 1000 piece jigsaw in which the pieces change colour depending on the direction you view them. Aussie company too.

I think I’d be justifiably murdered if I bought that. Boyo is colourblind in a way that causes disco strobing. That puzzle would be way beyond evil.

slept half sitting up in my oodie , I am so sick of this sore back ,

the thing is that by the end of the day I’m really sore, this makes it hard to sleep, sleep heals my back so this means I sleep best later in the night and morning

probably should go to bed a few hours earlier , eh

thank you for listening to my lame whine

Went to see some Valais sheep today. Those lambs are cute.

The boys knew exactly what to do as well. They went straight for the Lucerne and started putting it through the fence

Resting my feet at my accom in Tokyo after many hours of train rides. I’m not going to bother going out for dinner tonight, I have ekiben I haven’t eaten yet. I really feel flat and exhausted. No sake tonight, just lots of sleep and tomorrow I shall be up and on my feet for some vigorous walking in the rain. Found a coffee place nearby that is actually open from 7:30 - a rarity in Japan where most cafes open from 10 or 11 (😢) - gonna head there and then just ramble around and explore. I realise I have some people I need to get gifts for or they’ll be a bit annoyed, so time to start looking…

This needs to include veg gyoza or a nice knife I’ll settle for either.

Pah, you can make excellent gyoza. (I’ve only had it once this whole time, I really ought to fix that over these last few days)

A nice knife it is, but not so nice that customs decides to keep it for themselves.

So I have Night Eating Syndrome. This is because I’m calorie restricted during the day as part of my weight cut.

Now it’s serious. I’ll be adding extra food to dinner just to make sure this doesn’t continue.

I think the trick is to eat later and go to bed earlier so you close that gap. Easier said than done.

I’m giving that a go tonight. Eat at 8:30ish and crash at 10pm. I have insomnia so I take a sleeping pill. Makes it easier to crash whenever I want.

Got my flu vax yesterday, and have a sore arm as a result. Woke myself up several times already by rolling over onto it. Sleep is very light and tossing and turning anyway, which is probably why. So I’ve given up and am phone scrolling in the hope I’ll get sleepy even though I know that’s the wrong solution. Haven’t had this with previous flu vax. Annoying.

Cripes, the prices on electric trikes.

Also where I live the bike infrastructure is ‘there’ and has a good reputation but was not actually that great in my personal experience. (Back when I was still strong enough to somewhat ride.) Bike lanes can have parked cars encroaching on them, obstructions like cracked asphalt or tree roots, or still force you to ride across an intersecting road. Some merge unexpectedly into a main road and there can be long stretches of pedaling uphill.

On the few rides I was able to manage before selling my (heavy, unpowered) trike on, I was literally riding on the road with the cars and having to chuck Ueys across lanes just to get to the local shop and back. That was before having a pet. I don’t think I’d feel ok doing that with Melbcat on board.

And knowing my area the thing would probably get stolen, either from outside the vet/shop or out from under me.

It’d be great if there was more bike friendly infrastructure like in the Netherlands. Or some alternative to mobility scooters, which don’t let you carry anything.

It’s not cheap bit have a look at the Cube hybrid trike. It has cargo storage and a joint in the middle to be a bit more nimble. Otherwise there are a bunch of electric cargo trikes. If you’re already paying a premium you might as well get some storage space

I remember when I test rode it I felt it would suit a few people perfectly.

I know Gomier do surprisingly cheap trikes and they have an electric model:

          https://cargocycles.com.au/product/gomier-electric-cargo-trike-red/

This place also sells a tricycle that fits a wheelchair in the front. Become an NDIS provider and you could get work taking wheelchair bound people for rides as part of their care package
