    HOLY SHIT!!!

I had interviewed for another role before xmas just on the off chance because it was a better role, but they said I wasn’t a good fit. The recruiter hounded them for feedback, and it turns out they thought I was overqualified for it and they love me!!! I’ve got an interview with the managing director on Tuesday!!!

    FUCK YES!!!

      w00t!

On a side note i fucking hate the ‘overqualified’ excuse. Ffs, you chose to apply for the role, you’re aware of your own capabilities. That ‘overqualified’ crap is based on an assumption that you came begging hat in hand and would fuck off at the first better role leaving them sobbing and bereft - as if they wouldn’t outsource or automate your role in a heartbeat for a 0.0001c increase in profits

I’m freeeeee! Just a bit of sniffles left and the medical centre has given me the ok to leave isolation.

Edit: interesting development… just showered and put deodorant on and I can’t smell anything haha

What an odd sensation. Coconut sunscreen… nothing. Cologne… nothing.

Going to find some breakfast to check on taste but toothpaste was barely noticeable soooo

Edit edit: I can kinda taste ketchup but that was about it from my eggs and bacon breakfast. I should just eat the healthy stuff I might not usually eat.

Friend is proposing a group to beach day tomorrow. Which involves going to a kid and dog friendly beach, being a taxi, leaving early and being surrounded by chaos. I was planning a slow solo beach day with a book and big ocean waves as a way to round out the holidays. Maybe I can say I’m busy in the morning to avoid being a taxi, join them for a bit then they’ll probably leave late afternoon and I can have a fraction of the day I planned.

Just went over to Lifou for 45 minutes or so. It’s so insanely hot. I’m still not 100% so I honestly had to be really careful over there or I felt like I might’ve passed out. Walked into the sea up to my knees which was like warm bath water. I wish I was feeling up to swimming. Oh well… very glad to be back in the shade!

Meanwhile this might be a bit of a hot take or sensitive topic or whatever but there are loads of ladies getting about rocking bikinis with and without G-string bikini bottoms who are on the more voluptuous/plus size and I think the confidence is sexy as hell. I don’t know what they’re feeling on the inside but they’re rocking the outside. Might not be for everyone but attitude and confidence in one’s own skin are probably the most attractive traits to me. Get it, ladies.

Oh boy… I haven’t had to do much in the way of talking today and I just tried to sing a little in my cabin. Seems I’ve only got about 80% of my voice! I guess karaoke is off the table… not that I’d go and sing into a mic with COVID anyway. I thought I sounded a bit deep when I spoke to someone earlier.

I recently went through all my direct debits and subscriptions, and cancelled everything I could possibly get away with. Some things I didn’t really want to, but I’ve had to take a razor to the finances. Far from feeling accomplished and pleased about it, I felt strangely depressed and like a failure.

She’s given me 18 years of good service so far (if we ignore the whole alternator incident) and will hopefully have quite a few more years. But she’s not worth a lot now, so the insurance is not worth paying the premiums for. If I can manage to not cause an accident and write the car off for about 5 years I should have saved back as much in premiums as an accident claim would give me.

I really have no idea. The change to the way loging in works means the program can no longer log in. I am really not sure if it is going to end up being something that can be fixed relatively quickly or if it requires a more major change, so unfortunately how long is a bit of a “how long is a piece of string” question. ☹️

Boss has asked me to come in on Monday. Yaaaay I need the money! Especially after doing all the back to school essentials shopping yesterday. Today we buy uniforms 💸Elder is a temporarily awkward shape, so I have to take him to try them on for size. Those classic grey school tailored type pants look fairly unforgiving and the size guide on the website was hard to interpret. His inseam, waist and hip measurements all suggested different sizes for pants🤦🏻‍♀️

The waist measurement on those sort of trousers is fairly flexible - a belt can work to do adjustments. If Elder is up for it, braces can be a fashion statement. Does the school have a second hand shop for uniforms? Fast turnover of garments due to rapid growth means there may be a good selection.

The school doesn’t have a uniform shop or second hand shop. They encourage everyone to use the dedicated Facebook community, and I don’t do Facebook. I don’t really want to start a Facebook account just to access second hand uniforms. I guess Miniest is going to the same school eventually so I’ll just do as I did in primary school, and buy new garments for Elder and hand them down to Miniest. Luckily she doesn’t care. I can organise a state schools relief fund voucher ($85 I think) which will help out a bit.
