I just got fired… “Not a good fit”. Fuck.

Edit: I got hired as client services manager, but it was a bait and switch. What they really wanted was a branch manager. Which is a higher paying role.

I didn’t say anything about it though.

Ah who knows. I’ve done another 30 or so applications this morning. Only concern is that a lot of places won’t be hiring until end of Jan. Guess we’ll see.

      Oh fuck, sorry.

Any org heartless enough to do that first thing on 2nd Jan is probably not somewhere you want to be, not that that helps right now.

I’ve seen you bounce back from shit jobs a number of times. I’ve even considered messaging you about how you seem to land jobs pretty easily from an outside perspective. For whatever reason you’re ‘not a good fit’ better to be out of there. They might have already had someone in mind and were stringing you along to cover.

Thanks mate. I was hired as client services, but there was a bait and switch. What they really wanted was a branch manager which they didn’t mention at all until I signed the contract.

I’ve always gotten positive feedback, and I’ve never once been fired. Literally ever.

I just hope I can get something soon and not have to wait till the end of January.

Feel free to message me if you want any advice for the applications process.

Nope, they won’t make it known it’s onboard. I doubt the asshole who brought it onboard has told them they feel unwell. I could have not told them and kept going about my business but I weirdly care about not spreading it.

Not making it known seems wildly irresponsible. Presumably you didn’t lick all the door knobs or something as soon as you boarded, but people who’ve been the same locations ought have the chance to test immediately.

I followed the storm all the way back from Ballarat to Melbourne this afternoon and survived the M8/M1 in an unfamiliar car with worn tyres and a chatty passenger, AMA.

In unrelated news, some of you may remember the saga of soxcat and the uphill battle to get vets to believe she had ovarian remnant syndrome, not separation anxiety or a UTI or Munchausen’s by proxy on my behalf. Got in touch with her human today and guess what. They found solid proof and the original vets that desexed her removed it in an open surgery for free. It was there. It took 3 surgeons but they got it out. She is now recovered and no longer suffering and hormonal.

I am mostly very happy and relieved for sox and her human, but also, can I just gloat for a second about HOW VINDICATED I FEEL.

I broke up with my partner. Honestly for the best and I’m in a great mood. I somehow seem to find people with the lowest empathy and EQ levels possible whereas I’m very high on both and end up being their ‘support’ but if I’m not doing OK I’m a shit person.

Working on doing more exercise. Set up a home gym and trying to lose my covid weight. In a great mood and kinda love storms so it’s a win/win!

They are definitely quite active, and zucchini are particularly expressive. My gardening course had some great time lapse video showing how bean plants move around looking for support to climb on. The slower plant that could not find a free support pretty much got depressed and gave up.

It’s looking threatening here in the north east, but on the radar it looks like most of the fun will happen in the west and we might miss out on anything too dramatic. Let’s see.
