  • Please don’t hate me or judge me, it’s so not hipster it’s embarrassing for me as a person.

So it’s was simply in St. Kilda, the place that used to just sell ice cream next to Republica / opposite the crossing. I know, I know I should face eternal shame for even saying it was good, but I saw oysters and was defo in (and always will be regardless of where the oysters are served), and thought “why not” on the roll, and then the oysters took a back seat after that. I’m literally going back next week to get another I enjoyed it that much.

  • Typically they were huge houses with dual kitchens and had a decent home gym etc, my last room in a share house had a walk in robe, private bathroom and a private balcony for example. So again, I knew it was on the more pricey side but still…

Also noticed you’d removed my suburb location in your reply after I deleted my comments which was a nice touch that didn’t go unnoticed, so thank you. I’ve mentioned where I live loadsa times but typically delete it after a few hours, it’s probs in my comment history on here when talking about local food haha.

  • Standard size tomatoes and cucumbers, carrots, that kind of thing. I wonder if it’s too late for sowing cucumbers.

You have nothing to lose by trying, well barring a bit of time watering.

Just so you know I’ve got some brand new tomato plants on the go from seeds and they’re loving it, very late start for those. With the weather how it has been this season I’d predict that that the fruiting period will be into late May. I’d hope cucumbers would be the same with ample regular watering.

  • I was one of those people who used to let the dishes pile up and switched to a dishwasher. Problem was then I found that I would just treat the dishwasher a cupboard and pile up dirty plates on the side until the dishwasher was mostly empty and then reload it when i needed clean things. Rinse, repeat.

What fixed it for me and I don’t know if you’ve tried is: when cooking, constantly clean. It means that by the end you only have your plate / cutlery to go (plus maybe 1 pan) which should be done immediately after finishing eating. It makes it a ton easier as you’re already busy cooking anyways so might as well be cleaning too.

Edit: also lol, there was a period where I exclusively used paper plates and disposable cutlery to solve your problem 😂

  • It’s done.

Finally, the gardening project I’ve been working on since the start of December is complete with everything I have available (still waiting on two citrus trees).

120+ plants (of which ~90 are chillies). At least a couple of hundred meters of piping have been laid for the irrigation system. Also then extended the irrigation system to also include the two garden beds and solve a pressure problem in zone 1 with an additional output.

So many hours. Now I just need to tidy up, but that can wait until the New Year right?

Edit: forgot to add that as a renter and not technically able to make holes etc the project had significant additional complexity (I should also add our landlords are lovely and defo wouldn’t have minded some drilling, but I know they’d have been round helping do everything if I asked about drilling holes)
