Jesus Christ you’ve been through a lot hugs I wish there was something I could say to make you feel better. Gave me flashbacks to living in youth housing as a homeless youth, druggies and vandalism and harrassment and people who were either fucked up or just shit people.

I’m so sorry. What a nightmare, I hate these people for you. You know what kind of people hate birds? Trash people. They exist everywhere, it’s not a class thing. Some people are just arseholes regardless of their life situation. Admitting arseholes exist does not make one a bad person. You are still a good person.

      WHAT THE FUCK

I don’t know what to say, but I’m so sorry all that shit has happened. You have a right to feel safe in your own home. I absolutely understand you being soured on humanity if so much of your experience of it has been the worst of the worst!

I hope, if anything, that you find some comfort in this little corner of the internet <3

This is probably the most important thing 💧for the most important person 🐈‍⬛ In this heat and with her kidneys it is so important for her to have water.

But I’m sorting everything out so there’ll be a few sources available

Bunny has been missing a whole week. I found it stuffed in between the couch cushions. Somebody is very happy. He has been licking it for the last 10 minutes.

At the last place, we had someone set them off at like 2am on Christmas day. It was bloody annoying, but at the same time, the morbid part of my mind cracked up at the idea of all the oldies in that area being woken up at 2am to the sound of explosions. The sort of thing that’s not funny, but is also, kind of funny

Got some chronic boredom. Nothing holds my attention and I don’t want to do anything, but I want some stimulation. Don’t want to watch anything though.

I hate this state of being. A weird mental limbo.

Probably understimulation. Maybe pace around to some music for a while, chew some gum. Play a computer game while listening to something

It sometimes happens to me too.

Feels like I’m in a state of limbo where I can’t decide to do a single thing even if I feel like I should be doing it.

Going to sleep early sometimes help.

I get a bit like that when I’m not going outside enough. It sucks, because it also makes me not want to go outside (and I feel like I have no reason to).

Garden bed cleared and dosed with a bit of dyn. lifter, slow release P and K. More soil coming tm to top it up. Ends up being a 1m x 8m.

Also won the NO STATICE argument quite convincingly. All gone!

Feels good to see a fresh bed.

There’s a rough/homeless bloke that hangs around La Trobe x Elizabeth in the city. He’s assaulted me twice now, once with use of actual force, and tonight I’ve just spotted him emptying a recycling bin and spreading the contents across La Trobe St.

The cops have a police report from when he punched me, but they simply don’t care enough (or perhaps don’t “have enough resources”) to look at the photo I sent them and actually hunt him down knowing his regular location.

The cunt’s an absolute menace and he’s very angry, all the time. He’s gonna seriously injure someone. I just give him a wide berth.

I’m so sorry dude. I fucking hate when they get aggressive because there’s not a lot you can do to deescalate or help their situation and then you’re left calling the cops. (And getting assaulted.)

I spent a lot of time calling psych triage services and homeless outreach and the cops… what finally worked was some cops finally agreed to come for a welfare check and the guy outside my house skulked off. Touch wood.

Please just do what you can to keep yourself safe

Just got my marks back from my last assignment for my hated subject. I somehow managed a distinction, which means I might have managed an overall distinction for the subject (if not it is a credit). Not too bad considering I avoided doing anything I didn’t have to for the subject and left everything to the last minute.

I doubt I’ll have the capacity to stay up until midnight. Too used to early starts with work.

If I’m splinter free I might do a celebratory pizza. If there are still any finger issues I’ll have a consolation risotto instead.

Very little. Might go up to Ruckers Hill and watch the fireworks from a safe distance. There’s some raised platforms in the local parks that are good viewpoints too. Spoiled for choice really. Other than that probably nothing much. Have some celebratory food planned, and the peaches on my mini tree are just coming up ripe so might have a peach fest before the bats discover them. At least the weather looks like being fairly mild so maybe not so many drunken revellers finding their way home by braille as last year.

I’m just staying home. I bought some ginger beers, and will probably watch the fireworks on my phone (on that note - tomorrow nights DT will be early)

Can’t be arsed going on a train and being puked on by people who’ve had a few too many, or nearly getting blown up by fireworks again

          Unfortunately indeed

There’s a whole timeline going on there! Pre 2018 I realllly wanted fireworks, but we were too rural to ever get them, save for occasionally every few years they’d do a rural show in our area and do fireworks. 2018 and 2019 I was too young to go myself, and nobody would take me. 2020 they replaced it with a bloody “three day food and wine tasting festival”. 2021 I came down with COVID and was too tired and unwell to go anywhere. 2022 I finally saw fireworks, but I went to a bad spot in St Kilda where the city ones were obstructed. But people set their own ones off on the beach so it wasn’t a net negative

          photo

2023 I finally saw the proper ones. I watched from Williamstown. But someone nearly blew everyone on the beach up with their stupid illegal fireworks. They came shooting right at me. Then everyone was just getting really stupid and it felt like it was about to devolve into a riot or something so I bailed. I skipped dinner though so eventually started feeling sick, but only pubs were still open. And they were all packed to the rafters, so I wasn’t daring, if they’d even let me in (felt more like a drinking pub and after-party, not really an eating pub). I ended up getting stale arse wraps from 7 eleven and waiting about 45 mins on average between each train I had to catch. And I was feeling sick the whole night

I haven’t actually been puked on yet, but it feels like an inevitability on a train full of drunk people at 1am. I was once on a night train where someone puked opposite me. Pretty sure that was just a normal Friday night though

One of my friends throws a house party every year. He goes to a lot of effort. It’s close to home, only people I like are there, great food (there’s a spit, desserts), lots of drinking and dancing. It’s a really good note for bringing in the new year.

If it wasn’t for this party every year, I’d probably just stay home. I find NYE out overrated, all this pressure to have a great night, usually very crowded and $$. Did the city one year, never again.
