Feeling much better. Inventory of my house turned up an abandoned bag that isn’t mine. Got my iPad and wallet back…and some paperwork with a name and address on it.

Just got off the phone with the crime scene people. They want that paperwork

That’s great to hear you got your stuff back.

She must have panicked when you got back inside and dropped everything and bolted.

Something that’s been on mind is how quickly it happened as well.

She must have been camping and casing the place for everything to have happened like you described.

Think from now on you’ll need to lock the door behind you before you leave for anything.

I hope the police manage to catch up with this thief with the paperwork she left behind.

Oh, they do. I had these random creepy women keep coming back knocking at all hours. One of them then got arrested on the block with an elderly neighbours set of keys on her.

That was a few years ago and I’d forgotten about it but note to self.

Thank goodness that woman was dumb enough to stop, drop and run and you don’t need to replace your cards. Best possible result after everything. I agree that unfortunately it sounds like you’ll have to lock your door behind you any time you pop out now though.

Headed down the coast, and competed with the tourists. While it was absolutely insane, I’m kind of glad I went, it was super lovely and warm out.

    Little picture of my outing-

That’s pretty much what I got very sunburnt doing! I threw off my shoes, and like most tropically raised Australians living in/visiting the south walked into water and immediately froze to death when I forgot sea water is not warm here.

Doing my part by driving around blasting The Beards with the window down. Just got home. I got that Murray St ice cream AND they had a boysenberry one so I grabbed that too. Also party pies and sausage rolls.

God DAMN it I just now realised I forgot ice magic.

Anyway… I also got chocolate. Don’t shop if you haven’t eaten since breakfast the day before.

Honestly I couldn’t care what date Australia Day is held. But I can’t help but think no matter what date is chosen some people won’t be happy. Because changing the date doesn’t change history.

If someone doesn’t believe Australia as it stands now is valid so to speak, any attempt to celebrate it on any day is going to stick in their craw.

    Bathroom decals are up.

    Decals

The cats are on the sliding door, so you can only see them when the door is closed. The butterflies are covering up some corrosion spots on the mirror, and I do not have much faith that they will all stay stuck.

Ah going wakeboarding tomorrow, haven’t been since the Before Times so I imagine I’m going to be sore at on Sunday.

I just wish my fam wouldn’t organise it so last minute, but it’s hard when the weather is as fickle as it is

I now have clean walls in the bedroom and bathroom.

Before I started I consulted with Google, and found a site with detailed wall cleaning advice. Apparently I was supposed to vacuum the walls, wipe them over with a dry dust cloth, put down plastic sheeting taped to the skirting board to protect the floor from drips, spot clean any marks with a concentrated cleaner, wash the full walls with a wet cloth and mild cleaner, wipe down the walls with plain water to rinse off any residue, then dry the walls with a towel. Well worth the small amount of effort, and I only need to do that every couple of months. Apparently.

I did not do most of those things.

All I do is dust the wall,. Get a bucket of warm soapy water and a textured cloth. Wring it out and start at the bottom of the wall, working up. Dry as I go with an old flannel.

The reason you start at the bottom is so that any drips you have don’t leave streaks down the wall which can be a bugger to fix sometimes.
