Day 29/70: First day of week 5 weigh-in.
Down 1.1kg. The novelty has worn off, it’s getting hard to stay motivated. 10 weeks didn’t sound that long but I’m not even half way.

You got this Nath! What’s your target and present if you don’t mind me asking? You’re almost half way there!

I don’t really have a target weight exactly, I’m more interested in improving my running speed. I used to run 10km every day at lunch time, but after a road accident in 2019, I put on weight and now can only manage 7.5km before I need to get back to the office.

I’d like to be 78kg, I guess. For my height, the “healthy” BMI range is 58-78kg. I weighed in at 85.9 this morning, starting at 90 at the beginning of this diet.

But I’m not really fixating on the weight as much as the effect less weight has on my running speed. I used to be able to run 10km in around 45 minutes. I’m about 7-8 minutes off that pace at the moment.

Severely underdressed for this wind on the way back and kicking myself for not at least wearing a light coat. Ya got me, Melbourne. Three weeks away and I lost my senses…

My unit has still retained some of the heat from the past few days but I’m definitely putting on the warm pants and socks and making a nice hot cuppa

My bolognese sauce tonight was a little too acidic so I googled it and added a little bit of butter as a remedy. Fixed it right up. And so delicious too. 🤤

Sunday night cooking, with a glass of wine, and ABC jazz whilst the kids laugh playing Minecraft together. Nice

A hundred-garlic lamb roast is now safely ensconced in the crock pot for tonight. Only 5 hours to endure the fragrance wafting through the house, and the neighborhood.

Mmmmnnn. Sounds good. The beauty of crockpot is it can wait until one’s had entree and maybe a few drinkiepoos beforehand …

So I thought I’d share some more home cleaning tips.

First up if you don’t have one of these in your sink, get some. Cheap from the $2 shops.

    drain strainer metal thingo

It’ll help stop drains from getting blocked. If it gets stained due to coffee or whatever give it a scrub with barkeeper friend or my friend Gumption.

Never ever ever spray cleaner on vertical surfaces. Some leave streak marks that are incredibly hard to shift. Instead spray on to a cloth, wipe over stain, leave for a minute and wipe back over. Watch the miracle happen. Particularly good for cupboards, walls, picture frames, windows.

For TV’s you do something similar. First gently dust the screen with a microfibre. Then wet a lenses cloth with water making sure you ring it out well. Wipe over the screen then go over it again with a dry lenses cloth. Make sure the water doesn’t dry naturally on the screen otherwise you might end up with marks. Make sure you do this before you turn the TV on.

Up way too early courtesy of cashews… I should not have put the water they soaked in, back in. Oh well, live and learn. I have been surprisingly productive this morning, although my eyes now hate me. I have also enrolled in T1 subjects which has also caused me to pity future me. Like I want this, but also am just not in the headspace to enjoy the journey, which completely sucks since the feeling has literally been going on since the start. But, life, privilege, yah, yah, yah…

Hope we are all having a nice Sunday morning thus far and those still sleeping, I envy you.

At the p’s place finally convinced them to put grip tape on the wooden stairs (3 flights up to the second story). Over the years I’d say I’ve stacked about 30 times going down them (basically your feet slip forward and you’re on your arse). Kinda wish I had a little video compilation of all of those moments.

When I was staying over the other night it happened again but I was holding a glass of wine. No one will believe me but I only lost about a 1/3rd of it which I thought was really impressive.

For anyone wondering if the white flutterby they are looking at is in the cabbage destruction gang, I found a guide showing how they are differrent from native butterflies.

And the moths are not pretty.

So the white ones aren’t moths but butterflies still equally destructive though?

I’m barrelling through s2 of Mr Inbetween but when I say that I need some time to reflect between episodes, it’s such an unusual show… Action x character study. The direction and cinematography take it to another level with the suspense

I watched it based on a recommendation from someone on the Reddit DT and I promised myself I would go back and chat with them about it… but I never did… Anywhoo, interested to hear what your thoughts are when you get to the end of the series.
