On a packed tram home, shoulder to shoulder, person across (approx 25f) from me just unwrapped a hungry jacks type burger and started chomping away. It smells a lot (normal burger smell). This is pretty strange and poor form right??

I don’t mind if people eat, as long as they’re not making those gross sucking noises as they chew. And mouths closed when you chew people. MOUTHS FUCKING CLOSED!

      I’m sorry for my outburst.

        I agree with you.

My dad unfortunately eats l like that I have to try and distract myself. It’s so disgusting.

Seems ok. Some examples of poor form might be eating a burger while:

      Attending a funeral

      While using a public toilet

While getting a massage at the day spa

      Just to name a few…

It has not happened to us but we are certain it has happened in the multiverse.

I’ve never shat and chucked at the same time while snacking on a burger so yes I really do need this story.

I’m told it’s hideously rude to eat standing up in Japan?

Recently visited and yes it is, eating at all on public transport in Tokyo is rude, other places frowned upon but still rude. On a shinkanzen though, 10am beers & snacks is fine?

This is a hill I will die on: if you need to eat fast food immediately otherwise you will die, you can eat it before subjecting others on public transport to the fowl odour and your poor manners.

Very poor form. Eating on public transport (except in a properly appointed dining car) is VERBOTEN for a lady. Yes, it’s the smell and and difficulty on disposing of the rubbish plus handwashing etc. Gross too from a microbiology perspective.

Was on a tram last year where a girl sitting alone in the first seat behind the driver (no.11 tram) was chomping on KFC. When she’d finished all she was going to eat, she dropped the bones & rubbish in the bag and then tossed it over her head behind her without looking. Hit 3 people before making it to the floor. If looks could kill then I’m still surprised she made it off the tram alive.

Thank you for chiming in. I was starting to feel crazy with all this gaslighting
