WHEW, I was getting a bit anxious there but it was just an HR delay… got the contract and I start tomorrow!!!

Fuck me today’s a bad day to have a hell of a headache though, the “how to be normal and sociable” part of my brain is QUITE atrophied after 3.5 months of funemployment and honestly 4 years of a job that became increasingly isolated and let everyone descend into being slobs 😂

I need to snap out of my NEET mode pronto. Packed lunch, when’s the last time I did that?!

It went well with my friend yesterday.

I was upfront and said that I just wanted to give him some space and he understood.

He said it’s cool and there’s no need to on my end.

In other news, I tried playing an online game with another friend. Never again. He’s one of those guys that takes it waaaaay too seriously. Shame.

We’re gonna get along GREAT. Just out of curiosity how quickly and frequently can you spam the “Reinforce” buttons to call down replacement squadmates who accidentally took a hit from their own orbital bombardment?

Super fast! Man I love this game and I never play online stuff. It’s so well made and you can just pick it up and play for a bit then walk off.

I have a confession. I love Ted Cat. I was reading and looked down and saw him sleeping leaning against my feet. He does that a lot. 🥹 And he’s such a funny cheeky brave little guy, even if he is a little chonky.

I got a dead rat gift last week. And a live mouse gift yesterday. 🎁 I know I should consider myself blessed, but I had to laugh at the look of disgust Ms black cat gave me when I told her those kinds of gifts are for outside only as I shooed her out the back door.

Ughhhh I went to a different barber than the one I went to last time and he fucked up my hair. He also scratched me with his scissors and started ripping out my hair while not even paying attention. An old lady next to me said my hair looks like “Elvis when he was in a war”. I don’t know what that means or if it’s meant to be a compliment but that doesn’t really sound like one

Not a compliment indeed. The classic short back and sides with (by the sound of it) extra raggedy bits. Um, I don’t think I’d go to this barber again. Surely there must be others near you?

I went to this one because I was at a specific clothes shop at a shopping centre a bit away from me and it was just across from it so I figured I may as well just do a 2 birds situation. The one I went to when I had my hair cut lazy in Dec was only about 5 mins away from me and they did alright, so I think I’ll go back to them next time.

I don’t think it’s beyond fixing, it’s mostly just uneven and not short enough on the sides to get the look I was going for, but then I’ll pretty much end up paying $80 for one haircut. Normally I’d just suck it up and deal with it, but I have to present part of a conference on Saturday so I don’t really have much choice

That said, I learnt a couple of years ago that I don’t look that bad if I shave off almost all my hair. I do the almost bald look better than I should for a 17 year old. So I have options

That’s good to hear - options are always good. I been told I look good in hats, so when I get a shit haircut I reach for the hatstand as a first option. Then choose a better hairchopper as time and budget permits.

Apparently my daycare did a “Lockdown” drill today. Got me thinking how quickly I could get down there with a cricket bat. Assuming I FLOG the SHIT out of the car (which of course, you would), reckon we could turn a 10 minute drive into 2 if I disabled all the safety systems on the car.

And that is an ABSOLUTLEY terrifying thought. How do people have kids in America!?

Lockdowns are more scary for the parents than they are for the kids. My daughter’s primary school was in lockdown because a brown snake entered the yard so not all intruders are 2 legged.

It’s a standard drill now. I suspect this is a hyperbolic comment but please do not put yourself and other peoples lives in danger by “flogging it” and then adding to the confusion at the site amongst emergency responders.

Imagine yourself as a police response unit encountering a man rushing into a daycare with a cricket bat.

Yes. Skyclad is the way to go but may not be advisable in the cbd or inner suburbs. A good alternative is to wash the windows. This rarely fails in my experience.

Edit: and it took them 5 years to notice

I did another load of laundry and moved stuff to vacuum an entire room then passed out until 3/4 am. (After sleeping the whole day before that.) So tired. The little lovebug is cuddling and purring.
