Any suggestions for an easy option for “German food” that I could take as a plate for a morning tea at work? I’d like to make Bienenstitch but I don’t know if I’ll have time so want a backup option.
This could be the winner - both simple and the dough and cookies can be made in advance. I actually bought a textured rolling pin to make these sorts of biscuits, unfortunately it is unlikely to arrive in time for this 🙁

Maybe a nice German sausage? Wouldn’t even need to cook one - some of the German smallmeats are amazing.
