Some people recommend instant mash potato. No idea how effective it is in reality. Whatever you do make sure the rodents can get out before you kill them. The stench is unbelievable if they die under the house!!!

Get a cat.
no guarantee there though.

Snap traps under milk crates or under furniture they can’t reach, ie my buffet is on little legs.
