I think combined with Irving realising that Helly wasn’t mean when she made the comment about Bert, the gardener comment when recalling what she saw in the outside world and him realising that only someone with a massive amount of power could enable an outie to come into the team while suppressing the innie personality.

Hopefully I’m not missing something, may have to rewatch the last few episodes.

@[email protected] Might be able to share some more insights into this.

Some are saying it has to do with the letters on Irving’s computer during his dream that could spell out EAGAN and he was already sus because of how little detail she gave about her OTC experience. I didn’t really notice the letters because I watched it in 2x speed like a criminal. Might have to rewatch too

Watched it at 2X speed? I have no words, my heart is crushed. The disrespect to my current favourite show!

This show is as much about the characters, corporate satire, the politics of power, depression, fanaticism, as it is about straight up plot. If you rewatch from that point of view, it will make more sense.

            spoiler

You have to remember that the innies know very few people. They spend their entire waking existence with their team, so if someone is not behaving as themselves it will be noticeable. Irv was suspicious of the gardener story, and then various other interactions he had with Helly seemed off. Her tone of voice, he face, everything was slightly off. Mark didn’t notice because he had rose coloured glasses on, and Dylan never went ‘overtime’ because he was holding the switches. So Irv was the one who was most sensitive to the changes in Helly. He felt he had nothing to loose, since Burt wasn’t at Lumon anymore, so took the risk for the sake of Helly and the team.

I went back to the scene with the letters as I didn’t notice it the first time around.

There’s a bunch of E A G N all over the place when screen starts to warp. Went too quick for me last night

full certainty is not required, great probability is all that’s needed, it’s real life, not a court case.
