I bought a humidifier a few years ago but never used it. Mainly because I was worried about the water settling on a nearby powerboats and causing problems, but I’ve found a nice place for it to live in my room not so close to electronics that I’m too worried. I didn’t know what to put into it so I just used a couple drops of lemon juice until I get some essential oils. Omg this is so nice. Nobody told me it was more like a vapour than steam. I just assumed it was a heating element that steamed a tank of water out a little hole in the top.
I still am a little concerned about potential humidity issues and mould, but I might just run it for a couple of hours before bed to make a nice smelly atmosphere with some lavender or something
Edit: I’m just now realising that a diffuse and a humidifier are not the same thing. I have a diffuser, not a humidifier

Mind Body Spirit festival is on over the weekend at the MCC. I don’t go for any of the woowoo stuff, but the Pro-Oils booth has some good value essential oils (cheaper than their online prices). If you’re at a loose end it’s free to attend.
I reckon MCC was a mispront. It’s called Jeff’s Shed after our fearless leader Jeff Kennett (premier of Victoria from 1992 to 1999), whose likeness adorns the south west corner of St Patrick’s Cathedral as a gargoyle. Kennett was an arrogant arsehole, who did a hell of a lot to make people’s lives worse. He also commissioned the MCEC building which has been known as Jeff’s Shed ever since.
EDIT: Mr Kennett is also responsible for the phrase “I got Jeffed at work”, meaning sacked without warning or reason. He had a real down on unions of any kind, and was responsible for setting up the whole Enterprise Bargaining arrangement. So instead of award wages and conditions being consistent across whole industries, enforced by powerful unions, wages were set within individual enterprises where workers had a lot less power and unions were banned. Basically the death knell of unions. In this he was greatly encouraged by his fellow Liberals who look back on the Kennett era as a kind of golden age.
Um yeah, a diffuser is a very different thing, though there are tiny little humidifiers for use on office desks. No clue if they do any good. The bigger medical humidifiers are the only way I can breathe enough to sleep at all sometimes. I would not be using one in the same room as your electronics!

I still don’t really understand how they’re different. Google just thinks a humidifier is bigger and a diffuser is smaller
Medical humidifiers exempt
Some diffusers use solid scent block things and no water. Aside from that I guess it’s mostly a matter of scale.
