The Whittlesea Public Gardens care a great spot with one of those miniature roadways for kids learning to ride their bikes. There’s just one thing to keep in mind about the place:

    It’s located in Thomastown

I travel through Whittlesea reasonably often, and was thinking hmm, I don’t remember seeing that, it must be off the main road… lol

Thomas town isn’t even in the City of Whittlesea so I have no idea why it’s called that

I took the family there once, back in the day when we basically went to every park everywhere we could find. I remember that place because it was so underwhelming. It looks great on Google Maps, big green open space. You get there and it turns out to be one of the most bland spots in all of Melbourne. We never went back.

It may have been done up recently, it was quite nice. The giveaways were how small the plants around the skatepark were and there’s a mini electric car charging station on the bike path

I concur. I once did a job there. It’s so exasperatingly bland. I really wish they did more with the huge space. I think Council was planning to but then covid happened and I didn’t follow up.
