Thank you to all who shared their thoughts on how long they think is too long to commute for a job. I think I’ll apply anyway to have a chance at something, but it’s probably not my first choice. On the upside, I would beat the traffic for the most part.
Commuting is one of the worst parts of a job bit I’d do it for the right place. I had a contract role at the CSIRO and I had to drive across Melbourne for it. I’d still do it if I could work for them again
Ha! I had to fly Melbourne to Canberra to do work at CSIRO occasionally. I only needed to do it like 4-5 times, mostly I worked remotely. But that was a commute.

Yeah I’d 100% go for it. Even if the commute does suck, maybe in a year or two you’ll be able to use your experience to get a similar job in your area
