I need it to run games pass before its a serious consideration for me.
I love steam, most of my games are in steam. But I cant justify ~1k on a steam OS handheld then 100 bucks on a new AAA title if its on gamespass for free.
I was explaining this to the mrs the other day. Now that they have this “everything is an xbox” campaign I guess the question is does that extend to devices they compete with?
iPhone/Android they dont have a horse in that race. Neither TVs or tablets.
But Linux they directly compete with. So is EVERYTHING an xbox? Or just stuff they dont compete with.
It goes deeper that Valve also released a gaming device. Gaming was over thing keeping people on Windows on their personal PCs, and not only did valve release and Xbox competitor, but with a different OS.
Although, I did hear Microsoft would rather sell an Office 365 subscription rather than a one off copy of Windows. Games pass fits that business model as well so they might just get out of OSes and hardware and just become another subscription service provider

I don’t play a wide enough variety of games to get games pass. If it ever becomes available on a SteamOS handheld you know Microsoft have given up

I don’t think I’ve ever noticed Lemmy do this before, but:
Happy Cake Day!
Thank you. I haven’t seen it come up either, it could be the app I’m using to browse Lemmy.
