    Thanks! Alas, I think I’m missing most of those things. I don’t have hoysin or oyster sauce, or actually even garlic

    Also, I’ve got no clue what a shallot is

      1 shallot = half an onion. The rest is close to being bullshit. Once you’re confident in the kitchen, then shallots start to matter, but starting out just use ordinary onion.
