I really really loathe how inaccessible mental health services can be. My partner has untreated ADHD, and his psych recommended a psychiatrist too. But it’s just so expensive, and he’s had a rough time with work (we have the union and fairwork involved, it’s a cluster-f), so it just feels out of reach.

It’s so annoying you had a dr who prescribed the wrong dosage, it really leaves a mark on the trust we place in medical professionals. I hope you are able to find a way forward.

Regarding uni, yeah, my one experience with uni in 2021 left a lot to be desired. It was so much stress with so little support, and no leeway. It’s one me for choosing unimelb, but it’s on them for being so utterly lackluster. I’m having a much better time with TAFE in all honesty, even better than HS too. It might be worth checking out the list of free TAFE courses that the vicgov offers, there may be a different pathway you could take to what you want to do? Or even just whatever looks interesting :) sending you my good vibes!

      Thanks Spud!

Same experience here but at another GO8 uni.

I’m looking into the different options right now :)
