I watched inside out 2 tonight

    Good movie, do recommend

I thought it might be kind of upsetting, because I sometimes find family type tv shows. Often feels kind of like a depressing reminder of what I don’t/won’t have. I’ve sometimes even found things like the Simpsons saddening.

But I just tried to stay out of my head and not give it much thought, and it seemed to work. Also managed to make the very last bus home of the night which is nice, otherwise I would’ve been walking 30 minutes back from the next one!

Simpsons as a family is a horror show for me. Homer is an extreme violent child abuser against Bart. ☹️

Yeah. But some parts of it represent a little corner in my mind that constantly wishes for things to have been different.

The Simpsons tends to only make.me sad when I’m already in a bad place. Other shows with less dysfunctional families like young Sheldon or similar tend to make me sad at any time if I pay too much attention to what’s happening. It always ends up reminding me that no matter what, I’ll never be able to experience growing up in a supportive environment with my basic needs met, or people raising hell if they aren’t. I can work to change that in my future, but something that’s a given for a lot of people was non existent for me. And that can be a harsh reality to cope with

I’ve always wanted to go to the movies alone and you have inspired me. The going out aspect might be good instead of just watching the movie at home.

I didn’t watch it by myself. I went to an out of home care advocacy session in the city, tonight’s was about education, and we watched inside out at the end and got free pizza. But I was like one of 3 people that showed up, so it wasn’t a whole lot different

But if you want to see a movie on your own, just do it. Everybody else is going to be too busy paying attention to what’s happening in the movie to even notice your existence. But on the off chance they do, I’d personally be more concerned by a large group coming in together, because that usually means they’re going to be all talky and forget other people exist. A solo person is just going to watch the movie and leave without any drama. So I say grab life by the balls and do what you want to do!
