      it’s wired to the same circuit as the light

      I’ve got one of those things as well in my bathroom. I don’t trust it at all and find it annoying not being able to turn one or the other on so I just never use it. Why do people even wire it like that?

      Hope your finger gets better quickly, always sucks when you get a cut there

          I settled on a night light being the only source of light in my bathroom and have got used to very dimly lit night showers/bathroom trips. Works really well as it doesn’t hurt my eyes whenever I walk into the bathroom overnight and I also don’t stub my toes as often as I wound in pure darkness. Might be worth looking into getting one as it can be easy to misplace a torch.
