I really did not know there was a recipe difference between Savoy and Jatz.

Where on earth does the name Jatz come from?

Savoy is owned my Arnotts, as is Jatz. Savoy was owned by another company that merged with Arnotts, and Arnotts already had Jatz.

“Savoy is an extremely similar cracker initially introduced by the Brockhoff Biscuits in Melbourne[8] in 1938.[9] While they were originally competitors, with the merger of Brockhoff and Arnott’s in 1963, the decision was made to keep both products on store shelves.[2] Today, besides branding, the difference between the two biscuits include the replacement of the full cream milk powder and malt in Jatz with golden syrup in Savoy.” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jatz

Edit: I think the name is a surname?

      Edit: idk wtf I’m saying

Haha, I get what you’re saying. I tried searching for the why, but nothing concrete.

I feel like Jatz come with salt on them and crunch better. They also have more of that golden look to them.

I’ll say I’m team Jatz as well if people want to argue about it

I actually prefer Ritz to both the others, although they have a different taste and kind of feel like a different thing

Also love how Ritz and Savoy are both hotels too

Actually, you’re right. I was thinking of Ritz the whole time. They are the best cracker

Haha, I feel the duty to Savoy, but Jatz is pleasantly crunchier.

Kind feels like when I’m in Sydney enjoying the harbour and feeling like I’m cheating on Melbourne. 😂

I like both but mostly have eaten savoy so maybe a small preference due to ‘used to itness’ (I’m sure there’s a proper word for that) However, I do love a fancy cracker with a cheese plate, like the various flavoured ones, wafers, pita crisp etc. Poor Jatz and Savoy have a lot of competition.

Oh yes, I know what you are saying. I’m a sucker for ooo, what’s that new cracker. I’m a crunch person. I’ve been eating Savoys a lot recently and am over the border, so picked up some Jatz last night. I must say their crunch is slightly superior.
