I’ve been road testing Aldi’s organic black tea because Choice declared it the best tea and I don’t know how it came to that conclusion. I’m not good at describing liquids but I’ll give it a go anyway.

There’s a distinct taste of floral. It wasn’t overly strong. Definite dry aftertaste on the palate. To me it lacked a base taste. Like if tea was 3D then this would be 2D. It tasted flat.

It would be good as a Billy tea because it had a bushy earthy taste. Bushells, Tetley, Twinings all taste better imo. Anyway it wasn’t bad, I’ll keep drinking it but I wouldn’t buy it again. 3.5 / 5 yum yums.

I’ve been finding that quite a bit with Aldi teas (Diplomat brand). It’s got front flavour notes, but no depth.

Problem can be solved by using two bags, but then you’re paying the same as a major brand.

It’s good to know it’s not just me.

I bought some more coffee from there. I remembered you said to pick one from South America. Choice of Peru and Honduras. I picked Peru.

Good choice. Peru, Honduras and Ecuador are all good. Brazil and Colombia are good, but not as good as the others.
