What’s for dinner is being replaced by Tucker Time. That way we can all post breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert and snack ideas and pics. Cheers.

Not Australian, but just finished lunch: homemade cornbread and chili con carne (in this case, some porkchops in the freezer I needed to use up) with some kidney beans thrown in.

I live in the metric world now, but it’s an old recipe in cups.

        • 1 large egg
        • 1 cup milk
        • 1/3 cup vegetable oil

mix the above. To it, add

        • sugar to taste (I do about 1/4 or 1/3 cup, but the actual recipe listed 2/3)
        • 1tsp salt
        • 3.5 tsp baking powder
        • 1 cup cornmeal
        • 1 cup flour (I mostly use bread flour)

Optionally, you can toss in some sliced chilis as well.

Grease a metal baking dish (or cast iron pan, if you’d rather) and bake at 200c for 20ish minutes (23 is the sweet spot in my oven).

Oh dear. Tucker is an Aussie slang word for food. Considering I had to look up who Tucker Carlson is I don’t think many Aussies would know who he is either. I do appreciate you letting me know this though.

Creamy pumpkin soup which my spoon almost yolo’d into when I was carrying it from the kitchen. Soup feels nice on my sore throat.

Haha. I didn’t even realise. Jfc. Thank you.

Note: I must not do things before I have my morning coffee.

They look alright. I’d add a tiny bit of cinnamon in there. Let’s know how you go.

Love the Tucker time idea… helps me because daylight savings time has really knocked me about this year for some reason. We’re eating dinner now (the fortnightly steak and veg meal we have every second pay day) and it feels like around 6:30-7ish but if course it isn’t! We eat at all weird times during their holidays.

Thank you. I thought I’d broaden it a little to include all meals after someone posted their bread that looked scrumptious. Hopefully more people will include more ideas, recipes and pics.

I’ll try and make the post as early as I can so people can ask for ideas on what to cook.

Got my noodles again with sausages and veggies. Also a side of chicken nuggets too.
