I’m starting the post early today because I’m so excited for my yummy dinner plans! I did not get any turkey at Christmas, so tonight I’m roasting half a turkey for myself and having Second Christmas 😁

Normally I haven’t got much worthy of a response to this thread, but tonight was special. Elder minipeeler got the Five Nights at Freddy’s cookbook for Christmas and had been wanting to make a pepperoni pizza recipe, so today we shopped for the ingredients and this afternoon made up the pizza dough from scratch. It gave me a good chance to explain how yeast and sugar work, among other things that might be relevant to him studying Food Technology next year. I forgot that, while I make pizza bases 2 days a week at work, I haven’t really done it much at home with the kids😞. Miniest was fascinated by how the dough rises, and the finished result was amazing! I should’ve taken a picture of them but, living in the moment and not through a viewfinder, we damn near hoovered them down!

I’m still eating Christmas ham and roast vegetables because my wife flew out for work boxing day.

    Ohh and some trifle.

I’ve have to run twice a day every day since Christmas and it’s still not helping haha

I had a lovely roast pork and ham on Christmas day, prepared by my sister and her husband at my parents place. But there was no turkey and no leftovers, sadly. Tonight I will be fixing both of those problems.

Turkey, ham and roast veg with gravy. I meant to cook some broccoli too but completely forgot it.

I don’t think it is. I roast without gravy is a sad, sad affair.

I’m like you. I don’t go ‘lightly’ on the gravy. I want my plate swimming in it.

My wife did pork and veal meatballs with lots of diced garlic, onion and black olives in a tomatoe base serviced in pasta.

Cooked a triple batch for freezing for a future lazy dinner.

This is for starters while watching the Test.

Maybe cheese platter for the main later on.
