Elder minipeeler got the Five Nights at Freddy’s cookbook for Christmas and had been wanting to make the pepperoni pizza recipe, so today we shopped for the ingredients and this afternoon made up the pizza dough from scratch. It gave me a good chance to explain how yeast and sugar work, among other things that might be relevant to him studying Food Technology next year. I forgot that, while I make pizza bases 2 days a week at work, I haven’t really done it much at home with the kids😞. Miniest was fascinated by how much the dough rises, and the finished result was amazing! I should’ve taken a picture of them but, living in the moment and not through a viewfinder, we damn near hoovered them down! There was enough dough for Mr P to make a couple of calzones with filling made of roasted capsicums and some of the pepperoni and mozzarella. Now I’m lounging around like a beached whale, but a happy and contented one.

Pizza dough is a basic survival skill. Also a lot of fun. This post is so wholesome.
I’m totes in awe.
Maybe one day you could share your pizza making secrets. 😊
