One that will grow in Melbourne??? I will ask my sister, who grows bananas in Jacana, which I didn’t think was possible but she now has a young forest of them. With fruit on the ‘trees’. Surely there has to be a cold tolerant version of mango by now.

Mallika: Can survive 0°C (32 °F) temperatures (for short periods of time).
Turpentine mango: Relatively cold-hardy.
Keitt: Low-growing variety that can grow and fruit in large pots.
Gomera: The most resistant to cold and frost, and it fruits even in South France.
