The major problem—one of the major problems, for there are several—one of the many major problems with governing people is that of whom you get to do it; or rather of who manages to get people to let them do it to them.
To summarize: it is a well-known fact that those people who must want to rule people are, ipso facto, those least suited to do it.
To summarize the summary: anyone who is capable of getting themselves made President should on no account be allowed to do the job.

And yes, I was channelling Zaphod, I love the Hitchhiker series, I have them all and read them multiple times hehehe

I love that we quote simpsons and hitchhikers here. I always enjoyed the bit about Zem, the mattresses. and that robot who shouted hells bells because he took out the floor from underneath him. Did they ever make a series with all the books? The og series was great as was the movie with the guy who played every role I ever wanted to but never became an actor. Of course now I can’t play anyone but a trans woman cos that’s exactly what I choose to look like.

Martin Freeman or Sam Rockwell? I have had the biggest crush on Sam Rockwell since I saw Hitchhikers when I was 13.

100% Sam Rockwell. There’s something a bit off about Martin Freeman. He doesn’t come across as very nice.

Martin freeman. He also played someone important in lord of the rings I think. yadda yadda, both are better in print.

Indeed it is. I thought frodo initially but no. Bilbo. Bilbo is kinda mean in lotr. Ruined by the ring.

Agreed, both are exceptionally better in print, though I posit that LoTR is more palatable to a wider audience in movie-form; the books read like an account of a history of a world (which, as we know, it definitely is and was intended to be a history and not a story) but the movie makes it easier to understand, strains out the songs or adds them in better ways than recounting them over pages and pages ahah

The Silmarillion should be many many films, one or multiple for each chapter. Just Luthien and Beren are a few films, and Turin Turumbar would be like watching a shakespeare tragedy lol!
