    Same with the Grand Final day off…why the Friday? Let people get turnt on Saturday night, carry on into Sunday and have Monday to rehydrate.

    The Friday seems silly, but I’ll take it anyway

      I believe Friday is the day they parade the football players around town so that people can assess their form before placing their bets. Like with horses before a race.

        And Friday before a long weekend is essentially a free day. BOOM 4 day weekend just like that.
