I forgot to mention when I got the jeans ($2 down from $11 on a tag sale) I also got some art books. They look great and I got a frequently recommended one but I just don’t have enough energy to dive in and start doing exercises.

Being surrounded by toxic dysfunctional people and having constant health issues is draining. I feel like I spend life in survival mode.

      so many hugs

Tell us about the art books you got. 😊

And with such books if I am too tired to do careful reading I will start by reading all the descriptions of the illustrations.

First of all I got “Drawing On The Right Side Of The Brain” by Betty Edwards. I snapped that up because that wasn’t going to last.

“The Acrylic Painter’s Book Of Styles & Techniques” by Rachel Rubin Wolf.

“Drawing Anatomy: An Artist’s Guide To The Human Figure” by Barrington Barber.

And “Oil Painting Portraits” by Ray Smith.

These are good because of fundamentals and having step by step studies to teach technique. But because I don’t have the juice to do the work (and don’t know when I will) I’m kind of just hoarding them. I feel like a fake.

you are not a failure 😘😘😘

I struggle with doing projects and reading so I try to do lots of little things , just one thing at a time

and getting those books shows you have analytical skills and are organising what you need to learn , that’s an accomplishment already 😊
