Good idea! I actually have a large wooden dog kennel in my backyard from the previous tenants.
I’ll deck it out and off we go!
I’ll cut a 2nd exit into it so if something happens there’s an escape route.
Maybe put a cardboard box or two inside the kennel so the space isn’t as large and the cats can cuddle up with each other. Also less drafty. Might be an idea to flea treat the kennel as you don’t know if the previous inhabitant had fleas or whatever.

I’ll have a proper look tomorrow, and if it’s no good I might just build something.
