    In my last job there was a solid 9 month period where my employer refused to accept that there was now a third degree of sickness. Instead of just “fit to work” and “not fit to work”, there is clearly a new category now - “fit to work, but only from home”. Took them a long time to accept that, and many spent sick days.

      It is a difficult one to negotiate because there’s definitely that third category. But then there’s people who insist they can work from home when they are clearly half dead but they are have trouble stopping and there’s others who will WFH/take a late start etc at the slightest hint of discomfort - its too hot/cold/I didn’t sleep until midnight etc. and they see it as a bit of a rest day. And as someone who has always been type 1 I honestly get really resentful at the second group. And yes this is often a battle of X/millenial vs Z which makes it trickier.
