Until someone can demonstrate benefits of manual over auto for daily driving, my stance will remain unchanged.
Daily? Nope. but on a drive for fun? All day.
If I go for a drive to relax (pretty rare these days) doing it in the manual makes me part of the experience. I’m working with the machine. Each corner I hit at the right rpm is a small victory or achievement, and the feeling of the momentum carrying through the corners is all the more special because I DID it.
Jesus I sound like a Subaru driver.

30 years ago, maybe. These days there’s very little advantage of manual,.unless you’re going off roading or such.

I’ve always looked at driving as something that takes you from point A to point B.
When I’m driving, it’s about music or podcasts and keeping safe.
I guess I never found pleasure in driving rather the destination.
I wish I could enjoy it, but alas it’s not to be.
As a teen it was my escape, so it’s got a strong emotional thing for me. That probably makes it.
