    Just moved a bunch of bluestone, same sort of size bricks old houses were built of.

    Whoever built those old double story bluestone houses my gawd their backs would be gone. Surely they used some sort of pulley system.

    They are HEAVY.

      probably used this or similar We don’t give old time tradesmen enough credit for sheer physical strength. There’s a reason North Melbourne football club was based on the butchering trades in that suburb - it was a ready source of really strong powerful and physically active blokes.

        Ooh interesting I hadn’t about the brick hod before. I couldn’t imagine doing that all day every day.
