Since you’ve got an older kid I suppose your a good person to ask. How old were they when you took your first holiday?
I’ve heard holidays with young kids being described as less like Holidays and more like Away Games.
First overseas holiday at 5 months, we went to Japan. Second overseas holiday was Europe at 18 months.
Japan was incredible and so easy with a little one. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, plus it really helped that kid1 fell in love with sushi.
Start planning. Yeah, the flight can be hell, but that’s only a few hours out of your holiday. The other part is the awesome holiday.
First day back at work after a holiday. Planning next holiday in another tab.

Oh yeah no chance I’d do overseas. Interstate would be pushing it for the first one.
Alright, one practice flight, then go overseas…haha. It’s great travelling with a little baby/toddler, and it creates so many wonderful memories.
But yeah, start local, but don’t not go overseas because you think it’ll be too hard. It is hard. But also incredible with a kid
