    What would you call this? A buffet, bureau, kitchen hutch, cabinet, the big wooden thing with doors, the thingy, mummy’s big dust collector? No answers are wrong.

      It’s a buffet and hutch. Loved mine, but no room for it post renovation.

        it’s what people had before built in benches and modular kitchens, that and tables to work at

      The bastard offspring of a secretaire and a credenza. A secretaire has the upper glass fronted cabinet on top of cupboards, but usually a pull out writing surface too and some drawers. A credenza has the cupboards below only and a flat top surface for putting dishes on.
      Kitchen buffet sounds about right.

      A spice rack and booze cupboard.

        It has neither of those in it. I have special cupboards for those things.

        I always went with buffet but sometimes hutch but that didn’t sound right because I thought a hutch was arched. This is why I’m asking the people.
