    I can’t think of a single woman in Norse myth, other than maybe Grendel’s mum.

      Freya. The Norns. But I guess goddesses don’t exactly count as people. No matter how badly they behave. Have you read Sagaland by Richard Fidler? It’s a collab between him and Kari Gislason about the people behind norse myths/stories - can be a challenging read but revelatory.

          The three ladies that spin the thread of life, weave the thread etc. and the third one cuts it. Much like the three Fates of greek mythology. Seriously scary ladies.
