For fucks sake is everybody on the road today off their fucking heads? 2 near misses in the last 15 minutes!

1 bloke ran a stop sign and almost t boned us. Not a care in the world. Not even a sorry wave

We stopped to let a car in, and some munted tradie floored it out of a driveways a bit further down the road. He very nearly hit the person we let in. The person in front of us had to swerve into the gutter on the other side of the road to prevent it…

Green is us, yellow is the bloke we let in, red is the fuckwit that floored it out of the worksite without bothering to look

Edit: another dickhead just tried to turn into us. Couldn’t even be arsed indicating. People need to fuck off and go get a fucking brain, did they get their license out a fucking box of cereal

When you’ve been driving for awhile you learn to anticipate and recognise dangerous driving by driving defensively.

Just yesterday morning I noticed about 3 tailgaters and one rode up my ass.

I’ll never understand the mentality of them as it’s so dangerous to do that. One of them even went so far as to tailgate a massive truck, you can’t even see past it.

There’s a lot of reckless drivers around for sure.

Yeah, I’m already somewhat okay at it as a passenger. Obviously my attention is usually split since I can go rant on Lemmy while the other person is driving, but while I’m paying attention I can usually tell who’s going to be trouble. I used to watch the dashcam crash comps, probably bad for anxiety and mental health, but I think that was useful to watch for me. Actually SEEING what can go wrong makes it retain better in my memory, and become a more subconscious thing, where as verbal instructions and learners tests/reading materials need to stay in conscious memory for a lot longer before being utilised subconsciously. At least for me. If that makes any sense

When I went to spend last Chrissy with the old LTs family, we had to do the trek from the west to the south east, then towards (but not onto) Philip island. That was fucked. So many people seem to think it’s okay to do 150 down the emergency lane just because it’s Christmas day. Your family emergencies don’t trump everybody else’s right to live you POS. There were multiple people doing it, not just 1 or even 2

Haha he actually kinda looked like Mr. Bean! The line was my bad, obviously the swerve happened when redman backed out into traffic, but he did fishtail a bit and hit the gutter on the other side of the road
