Kukur Tihar: The second day of the festival is known as Kukur Tihar, or ‘the day of the dogs.’ Kukur is the term for dogs, and they are mentioned to be the ‘guardian and the guide of the souls’. They are fed good food, and their owners place garlands around their necks and tika on their foreheads.
He already gets the best of the best food and he’s not gonna like the garland. I struggle to give him his flea treatment in between his shoulder blades so the tika is probably out of the question if I want to keep my fingers. I guess I’ll have to make him some sort of meat cake.
FWIW Wed is Kukur Tihar, Nepalese Dog festival day.
How does one go about celebrating this event?
You pamper the doggo and they will ‘stop you from being tortured in hell’ from what I’m reading.
