Did you end up going to the hospital? How did you treat it?

Try and keep it clean and use some first aid disinfectant wipes if you have any, otherwise either unscented isopropyl wipes or just soap and water and band aids/gauze will do

I wrapped it in a rotation of clean socks until about 7.30 at night (12 hours post incident) when I realis d I had band aids at home. I applied one over the bloody mess of my thumb and went to bed. After pic is the morning. I didn’t go to hospital or call nurse on call or anything. I figured: if I die, I die. I’ll monitor for infection though

Ugh you sound like me. Or maybe I sound like an annoying wannabe nurse. Or maybe both

When other people are injured in my presence I always go full fix it mode and try to find antibac wipes and band aids, when I’m injured I rinse the blood off and say she’ll be right 🤷‍♂️

Coincidentally (or maybe not) I actually cut my thumb on old electronics I was messing around with this morning (not as bad as you though) and didn’t really do anything. No wipes, no bandaids, no gauze, I just wiped the blood off on a tissue, even though I would tell anybody else in that situation to at least rinse of the blood and wash with soap

Glad you’re ok though, please carry on being ok and do not, under any circumstances, die. If you do die, I’ll be most displeased and write you an angry letter
