    Was at the shops and overheard a discussion in which a lady kept pronouncing tempura as temp-YOU-ra. With the emphasis on the middle syllable.

    Almost ruined my day

      I was going to reply to this with my pronunciation, but then it just looked ridiculous written down and now I don’t know what to say

        Tem-poo-rah is how ive always heard it. From Japanese speaking people too

        Does kind of look ridiculous
