I think I’m officially giving up on trying to clean the baked-on grease in my air fryer. I might leave it downstairs at the “free to good home” shelves in my building and go buy a new one. It’s a shame because it’s a pretty good one but cleaning it sucks (and I was lazy for too long and now it needs more serious attention than I’m willing to give it… I’ve tried a few things but I’m done).

Note that is one of those times where I think of doing something, write about it online then will likely have bought the new one inside of an hour or so. That’s just how things happen here.

Screams in ‘waste not, want not’. Still, I do understand how bloody hard it is to clean baked-on grease. I assume you have tried all the various iterations of baking soda? And oven cleaner spray?

Yep I did all the things the internet suggested at me. I don’t feel too bad about buying a new one if someone else can use this one for free though.

Understandable. An expensive lesson in cleaning up as you go though. May the next airfryer be better kept.

Over on r/airfryer people recommend using avocado oil instead of olive oil in your airfryer to stop the build up of gunk.

To clean it I fill it up with hot water and detergent and take to it with a Scrub Daddy.

Mine is dishwasher safe. I chose it solely because of that fact.
