Yeah that’s how he did it. I had doubts but found an old hobby knife and dug up some old gifted charcoals. Did kind of a crappy job of it because first time but didn’t lose a finger.

can’t wield one but i sharpen pencils with a little knife. not a fan of pencil sharpeners
