Yes! I originally tuned in for Maxine Peake but soon found myself really sucked into it. Sort of reminded me of Home Fires which was brilliant (still mad they cancelled it)!

Maxine Peake is such a good actress. I loved Home Fires too.

Lark Rise to Candleford, Cranford, All Creatures great and small, Land Girls, Parades End, My Mother And Other Strangers, World On Fire are a few more that I’ve watched and liked.

And of course there’s all those turn back time documentaries that are great to watch.

Yes!! All of those are so good, espcially Lark Rise and ACGAS (both versions, although the new one kinda wins out by a little because I love Anna Madeley, Samuel West, and Callum Woodhouse) just so fkn cosy, they make me feel all warm and toasty inside.

You’ve probably seen it, but The Durrells is 10/10 period drama, everything about it is excellent!

The Durrells is a good watch. The book was good too. And The Larkins which was somehow connected to the Darling Buds Of May. Well you’re like me who loves this stuff. All I can recommend now are books that are similar.

Nella Last and Helen Forrester are 2 authors that wrote books that are some of the best reads I’ve ever read.

I’ve had both of those authors recommended to me before. I’ve been looking for my next read since I didn’t line anything up after an indugent reread of Phillip Pullmans’ series, so maybe I might make a start with those. In saying that I have a sneaky suspicion that I read The Latchkey Kid by Forrester many moons ago.
