Engaging in the masochistic activity of looking at apartments and imagine what it would like to live alone. It really really fkn irks me that someone on my salary in their late 20s can’t afford a half decent apartment.

Wait till you’re actually paying a mortgage! It’s like you finally caught the wild horse and it’s actively trying to buck you off for being too new to have games the market like all the freakin boomers with 5 houses rented out that they do no maintenance on!

At this point I fully expect to just inherited my parents house, no way I’ll be able to afford anything in my lifetime.

it’s rough! side note, there are a lot of ‘nice’ apartments that are actually pretty shit, living in a cheap shoebox is actually alright depending on the neighbours (applies to anywhere really)

If you can get a housemate who’s decent, it’s a lot easier to live with one other person. We’re in a fancy apartment that costs us individually way less than what my housemate’s newish partner pays for her 1 bed place.
