Caught up with an old school friend who I’d lost touch with for ages, found out she’s got lupus and it’s been really casting a sobering tone to the day - I can’t believe what she has to go through even in her mid 30s, you think your classmates have a whole lot of life ahead of them and never expect them to be condemned to endless specialist visits and expensive treatments for the rest of their lives. Honestly still can’t shake it off. On the plus side it’s sort of made her a more patient and compassionate person than before

so many hugs, it’s such a shock, I know in my 30s I still half believed we were immortal
